It all began with an idea.
I wanted to work primarily with BIPOC birthing folks. I was finding it challenging because of a lack of available financial resources. I was working through creative ways to change my pricing structure when it hit me…
It takes a village. I needed to start a fundraiser to broaden access to high touch, thoughtful doula services. Within the first week we raised over five thousand dollars. My community, near and far, showed up for BIPOC birthers as a whole.
Blackswell Birth Foundation is a labor of love and grace. We are here to bridge the gap and end the high Black maternal mortality rates.
